Karl T. Foerster
Vice President of Operations and Pilot
Captain Karl T. Foerster, a seasoned veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, is Vice President of Operations with Voyager Jet Center. After graduation from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Karl spent four years serving as the Business Manager for the law firm of Gondelman, Baxter, McVerry, Smith, Yatch and Trimm. While with the firm, he managed the day to day operations as well as flew captain on their corporate aircraft.
During the mid 80’s, Karl accepted a position as corporate pilot where he trained and flew several jets including the Citation I & II series, Lear 25 and 35 series, and most notably the Lockheed Jetstar.
Karl enhanced his aviation career in 1990 by landing a Flight Officer position with USAirways. Returning to his home base in Pittsburgh, Karl flew several aircraft during his 13 year tenure as an airline pilot including the BAE 146, Boeing 737, McDonnell Douglas MD-80, and the Fokker 100. He continues to maintain his currency today as an active pilot flying the Gulfstream and Hawker series aircraft at Voyager.
As a free lance Certified Flight Instructor for 27 years, Karl has taught individuals to fly from Private through Airline Transport Pilot.
Karl is currently a member of the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and previously has taught aviation courses at the Community College of Allegheny County. Captain Foerster presently holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Type Ratings in the Boeing 737, Fokker 100, Gulfstream III, Hawker HS-125, Lockheed Jetstar, and Learjet aircraft.
With more than 11,000 accident and incident free hours of flight experience, 7000 hours jet time, and a current First Class Medical, one of his most rewarding accomplishments has been to work with some of the finest aviators in the industry.
Born in 1961 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Karl resides in Robinson Township with his wife Tracey, and their two children, Leah and Eric.
