Ronald E. Adams
Pilot
Captain Ronald E. Adams is a veteran of almost 35 years experience in the Aviation Industry. After earning his Private Pilot's License in 1974, he continued to add his Commercial, Instrument and Flight Instructor's Ratings, all the while working as a Technical Manager for Savin Corporation in New York. Ron then worked for several years as a Flight Instructor at Campbell Airport in Bridgeville, PA until 1981 when he accepted a full time position as a Commuter Pilot in Beech 99's, for Christman Air System based in Washington, Pennsylvania.
In 1984, Ron began a long career flying with Corporate Jets Inc. based at Allegheny County Airport in Pittsburgh. Although he flew Learjets and King Airs on various missions ranging from Medical organ transplant to Executive charter, Ron was partial to the Hawker Business Jet. In 1998, Ron went to Cleveland, Ohio to become a Hawker 800 Captain for Flight Options Inc. He spent nearly four years flying for the Fractional ownership program before his return to Pittsburgh.
Ron currently holds an Airline Transport Pilots Certificate, with Learjet, Hawker and Beechjet Type Certifications. Ron also maintains his Certified Flight Instructor's status for Private, Commercial, Instrument and Advanced Ground Instruction. With more than 11,000 hours of accident and incident free flying and a first class medical certificate, Ron continues to feel most comfortable in the "left seat of a business jet".
Born on August 28, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, Ron resides in South Fayette Township, along with his 3 sons, Jonathan, Michael and Matthew. After several years as a Cub Scout/Boy Scout leader when his boys were younger, Ron was a Level III USA Hockey Certified Coach and Referee, while his sons were active in various levels of Amateur and High School Hockey. He still maintains his "League Official" status with the PIHL. During the hockey off-season, Ron and his boys spend most of their free time showing and restoring some of his AACA Registered Antique and Classic cars.
